When do you need an agent to receive service of process?
During a company’s registration, an agent to receive service of process should be reported if a
- foreign legal entity or
- a natural person who is not resident in Hungary
is indicated in the application for the company’s registration (or change registration).
The delivery order shall be concluded by the foreign person or company with a Hungarian natural person or legal entity.
The legal status of the agent to receive service of process is regulated by Law V of 2006 on the Companies Registration, Company Information and Court Registration Proceedings (hereinafter referred to as Companies Act). According to it, the agent to receive service of process is responsible to receive any documents written by any court or other authority to a foreign person in connection with the company`s operation and to forward them to the client.
How much does it cost?
Our office provides the service as an agent to receive service of process for HUF 40,000 per year.
- The customer will be immediately informed of each shipment received under the delivery order by email.
- The service includes the forwarding of the shipments to a specified address within two business days (postage to be paid by the client), if needed, and the fee includes the forwarding of the scanned documents by email, as well.
- The postal letters are forwarded as agreed, which may be electronic or postal mailing.
The fees do not include VAT.
The fees are determined by charging +27% VAT.
